We all found the staff friendly and helpful, and the stay price was a bit above some other options, though the extras and convenience made it worthwhile. The lounge is spacious, with soft seating, a fireplace, and lots of board games. It was a nice place to relax or wait before check-in or after checkout. There are two restaurants, one casual and one a little nicer. The lobby has free hot tea and coffee, iced coffee, water, and cookies at all times, plus a marketplace for snacks and drinks. Other amenities include an adequate fitness center, a nice-sized pool, and a game room with a few games. Our studio suite had a King bed, sofabed, and kitchen. It was great for traveling with family, with a full-sized fridge, microwave, iron, ironing board, and a large TV with enough channels, including HBO. You can also sign into Netflix, Youtube, and Amazon Prime. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure, climate control worked well, the room was quiet, and there seemed to be ice machines on every floor. Check-in was simple, and the lobby was well maintained, with business-center computers off to the side. We picked the Residence Inn at Bala Cydwyn for a mini Philadelphia getaway after comparing it with hotels downtown. Many options had small rooms or charged upwards of $60 a night for parking, and some used nearby garages that weren't connected to the hotel, which made me uneasy. I've always liked Marriott's Residence Inns, and this one had good reviews, free parking and breakfast, a fitness center, dining nearby, and was only 15 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. The hotel is right off the Schuykill River, with the Pencoyd Trail alongside it for walking and running. Iron works surround the immediate area, a theme reflected in the hotel's lovely decor. The area is separated from the rest of town by I-95 and train tracks, and felt very safe and quiet.

The room was huge, with a large bathroom, living area, kitchen, comfortable bed, and plenty of windows. The kitchen was fully stocked with cutlery, which is great for families. The location is convenient, with two restaurants on site, FREE EV CHARGING, and Target and Olive Garden nearby. Booking through the Marriott bonvoy app was super easy, and the option to chat with the hotel ahead of time was great. It seemed like peak season, but I used a free night to stay. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 2:30 PM, which was odd since we have platinum and elite status and expected to be prioritized. The free breakfast was decent, nothing special. There's an indoor pool, but it isn't heated, so my toddler didn't stay in long. The gym is okay, and the Peloton bike is a nice touch. It's a good place to stay, and I would come back.

The hotel itself was very cool, and I had an excellent two-night stay at the Residence Inn Bala Cynwyd. The breakfast buffet stood out, thanks to Helen. She welcomed every guest, offered help before anyone needed to ask, and seemed to anticipate what people might need. She was pleasant, professional, and helpful, and I haven't met a more impressive hotel employee. Helen is the best, and a great ambassador for Residence Inn.

We had a wonderful stay. The room size was very good for the price, and getting to destinations was pretty easy, though traffic into town is heavy. Tatianna and Michelle at the front desk were fabulous, and the morning breakfast staff were kind and helpful. All the workers were happy and respectful. The only problem was the handicap parking, which wasn't properly set up to help people who need it.

This hotel was worth every penny. Courtney and Dominque were top notch, and with wonderful rooms, comfortable lighting, a desirable breakfast, a great location, and easy parking, the whole stay went flawlessly. We came here after more than a week of someone trying to break into our Airbnb in Fishtown. On the last night, the person was screaming and trying to kick the door down, so we left at daylight. Dominique helped us get a room where we could rest, and Courtney worked her magic too. Their help made a huge difference.
