Sosuite at Independence Lofts - Callowhill

The location was great, but that's the one thing I liked. I ended up sleeping on the long couch every night because one bed was so uncomfortable it felt like the floor, and the other bed's frame squeaked with even the slightest movement. The pillows were tiny, like throw pillows, and only a child could be comfortable on them. I found a used Band-Aid in the shower and had to remove it myself. The water pressure was so weak that one shower barely worked; I avoided the other one because of the dirty bandage and assumed it hadn't been cleaned. The welcome water and pretzels were a nice gesture, except my pretzel bag was already open. My unit was next to the stairwell door, which slammed so loudly it felt like living in a war zone. They need hydraulic hinges. I can't imagine living in this building full time, and I won't stay here again.

We had a spacious, clean apartment with comfortable beds and appliances that were easy to use. The full-size stacked washer and dryer were a plus. Check-in was simple, there were cameras everywhere, and having reasonably priced off-street parking was a huge relief. The location was great, and the whole stay went smoothly. My only suggestion would be to offer decaf coffee for the Keurig. We'd come back, and bring our dogs next time.

The parking was a little tight, but having a spot was a big help in a city where parking can be tricky. The location is hard to beat, within walking distance of major attractions, restaurants, and bars. We stayed at Sosuite at Independence Hall and would happily book again. The flat was cozy, cute, and thoughtfully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable I didn't wake up in pain once. It had everything we needed. The hosts kept in touch electronically from the day before arrival through checkout and seemed attentive. I'm sure they'd have helped if we'd needed anything. One thing some guests may mind: there was a constant weed smell around the parking area and elevator. The hosts can only do so much about inconsiderate people, and we didn't notice the smell in the hallways or inside the flat.

We only stayed one night. The rooms looked lovely and had that nice mix of Airbnb and hotel. Still, we wouldn't return. The walls were paper thin and we heard a lot of noise late into the night. At some point I woke up to a very strong weed smell, especially in the master bathroom. My husband checked on our young kids in the second bedroom during the night and said he could smell cigarette smoke there. It was so pervasive that he wanted to pack up and move to a proper hotel. We stayed only because I talked him out of it. The master bathroom was freezing. I found that the vent was closed, but it was too high for me to open.
