The Old City location is convenient, with important sites and plenty of walkable places nearby. But the rooms and service were awful. Our room smelled strange, the curtains wouldn’t open even by hand, the shower curtain was dirty and had mold and mildew, there were no drawers for clothes, the mini fridge had no freezer section, and the light switches were hard to find. The worst problem was the noise through the double door between our room and the neighbor’s. From midnight to 8 a.m. they talked on the phone, played loud music, clapped, and kept making noise. We called the front desk after the first night, and security came up, but the noise continued. The next morning we told the desk we were exhausted after two nights without sleep. They offered a move, but said the neighbors were leaving that morning, so we decided to stay one more night. That was a mistake. The same people were still there and even louder. This overpriced “4-Star” hotel didn’t seem to care about clean rooms, guests, or keeping other guests from disturbing people. I’d have had a better stay at a Motel 6. Don’t stay here if you need sleep or a clean room.

The health club was really nice, and the hotel itself felt updated. The lobby is super trendy, while the M lounge is decent but nothing special. My one complaint was the sheets. I found hair on them and asked for a change, but when I got back at midnight, they’d just left clean linens on top of the dirty ones for me to change myself. I’d stay again.

The rooms were nice, though ours was a bit of a walk and the window looked straight at a wall, which was disappointing. The fan was my main complaint. When it came on it sounded like an old airplane, and when it shut off it made a loud pshhhhh noise like a tractor trailer air brake. It kept doing that at night. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Olde city, with history and nice sights just steps from the front lobby. The lobby is pretty, with a full-service bar and restaurant whose menu looked good. There’s only valet parking at $55 a day. We parked about a 5-7 minute walk away for $30 a day instead. The gym equipment looked brand new.

We used the Marriott Old City for our wedding hotel block and had a fantastic experience. Michele kept us updated on reservations and the block’s status. We booked two suites to get ready in, and there was comfortable space for more than 10 people. The hotel also brought extra chairs for our hair and makeup teams, which helped a lot. The downstairs bar worked perfectly for our post-wedding after-party, with great drinks and a relaxed vibe. The location is convenient and very walkable for guests, and the hotel had the best prices in the Old City area.

I had a great stay, and the service made it especially memorable. Mikal at the bar kept going out of his way to make sure things were pleasant. John, the property manager, also deserves recognition for his commitment to guest satisfaction. His dedication to making the place welcoming showed throughout my stay. I’d highly recommend it. Edrick
