I'd like someone to get back to me or my mom. I spent my birthday in a bed full of hair, and she paid over $200 for one night. She booked it for me because I was going to a show nearby on the 22nd. Since then, she's tried repeatedly to contact the inn and hasn't gotten a response. There were stains on the carpet, a hair on the towel over the toilet, and hair in both beds when I pulled back the sheets. The sheets were falling apart and stained too. After midnight I went downstairs for clean ones and made the bed myself. Then I tried to relax with a shower, but the ceiling was coming down into the tub. As a woman traveling alone, I was also uneasy that the door latch was broken. While I was still there, my mom called and eventually reached a young woman who said she didn't know what to do and the manager didn't work weekends. I don't know when he works, because nobody has called or emailed her back. That same woman was unpleasant. At checkout, the office door was closed. A housekeeper eventually saw me and called for someone. From behind the closed door, someone asked, “can I help you ma’am?” She knew I was a woman, so clearly she'd been watching me on camera while I waited. She did come out to give me a receipt, which was the least she could do.

We chose this hotel to reach Temple University hospital, but it was actually a 40-minute walk through a bad part of the city, so we had to take an Uber anyway. Had I known, I'd have booked elsewhere. It could suit someone who needs to be right in the heart of Temple campus, which is what it has going for it, but I wouldn't stay here again. Getting inside was awkward. Parking is a block away, and the narrow front entrance has no automatic door, making it hard to bring the luggage cart through. The old room carpet set off my dust and mold allergies and left me wheezing. Bathroom fixtures were unusually low: you had to lean way over the sink, and the toilet was low even for someone only five feet tall. With mobility issues or at an older age, I wouldn't recommend it. The bathroom fan was extremely loud, though shower water pressure was very good. There wasn't a restaurant or room service, but there are nearby places for coffee and bar food, plus a 7-11. The room had no phone to call the front desk, no safe, and no refrigerator. You can request a fridge ahead of time, but that wasn't mentioned when I booked online. The beds were very soft and felt like you could roll off the edge, which wasn't to my taste, though someone who likes a soft bed might enjoy them. The only ice maker is in the basement. It was dark and dungeon-like, and felt scary when I went down; it was broken anyway, so there was no ice.

The front desk and cleaning staff have always been great, and the location works really well for people visiting Temple University. For everyone else, it may not be as convenient. The whole property badly needs an update and feels very overpriced for its condition. The beds and pillows are awful, and the carpets, especially on the stairs and in the hallways, are honestly disgusting. It leaves me feeling like the owners care little about guests as long as Temple U parents and visitors have few other nearby options.

Toilet water flooded my room, and they moved me without telling me first. They handled and packed up all my things, then only told me afterward. The next day, the replacement keys wouldn't work. I went to the front desk and waited an hour for someone to return, even though the sign said they'd be back in one moment.

You're literally on the Temple U campus, with a variety of restaurants nearby despite the place being small. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with no signs of damage or wear, though its wallpaper needs updating. There's no mini fridge or microwave in the room. A fridge is available for an extra $10 if you ask. The ice machine is in the basement. Parking is...
