The Study at University City

The lobby has the feel of an artsy living room, so it’s a nice place to work or hang out, and there’s free coffee in the morning. The on-site bar and restaurant are decent. Rooms are quiet, clean, and modern, with comfortable beds and strong showers. The front desk and valet staff were friendly and helpful. The Study at University City is stylish and a solid option in West Philly, especially if you’re visiting Penn, Drexel, or attending a nearby conference. It’s close to 30th Street Station and an easy walk to Center City, so getting around is simple. I’d stay here again for a comfortable, low-stress visit.

The beds were extremely comfortable, and the hotel was impeccably clean. It’s quiet inside, though being in the middle of the city means you’ll hear some street noise at night. There’s a coffee bar in the lobby in the morning, and the hotel is just steps from Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania. The Study is stylish and looks just like the pictures. We felt welcome as soon as we walked in, and everyone working there was polite and clearly aimed to provide top-notch service. We’ll definitely stay again.

Fragrance-free rooms and a lobby without a signature scent are hard to find, but this hotel works for my family’s needs. Some of us get sick from perfumes and various chemicals, so we also need unscented laundry detergent and ask for the room to be cleaned using only water and vinegar. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind. Vivian, the head of housekeeping, is wonderful. Camela understood our needs and was kind and helpful when we spoke on the phone and when I met her at the front desk. My family will come back often, since we have family and interests in Philly.

The rooms are very clean but sparse, with basic furniture and no coffee maker or fridge. Coffee is available in the lobby, but only at limited times. The staff were excellent. Depending on what matters most to you, it could be a great or just a good place to stay.
