Americas Best Value Inn Phillipsburg

There was no toilet paper, towels, coffee, or cups in the room, and the entrance area was very unclean. My room had an unclean carpet, a broken mirror, and a dented refrigerator. The door lock was broken, which felt unsafe. The desk service was unprofessional. They took a $100 deposit, then I waited half an hour while an older lady checked the room for damage. I’d rather not add photos.

Even with the hotel near the 78/22 highway, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The location made it quick to get to fuel, restaurants, and shopping, and the exits were easy to reach. I liked that the room doors opened onto a protected interior hallway, not straight outside, and the parking lot was well lit. The room and linens were perfectly clean and had what I needed, including a microwave and fridge, a big desk, and a TV. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and professional. I only stayed one night this time, but I’ll definitely come back. Thank you!

They wouldn’t let me into my room after I booked online, saying I hadn’t paid “In person and could be scamming”. On top of that, they asked for another $100 security deposit, which I thought should’ve been included in the online bill. I still haven’t received my refund. Best $125 I ever spent 👎

The room was clean and the price was right. It’s a great place to stay, though finding the office when I arrived was difficult. A sign pointing it out would help.
