The staff I spoke with on the phone were nice, and there was plenty of coffee and towels. The room is bare-bones, but very clean and comfortable if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

It’s a lovely little house in a handy spot, and I’d definitely recommend AV Inn. The highway is extremely close, so traffic noise was a problem, though they provide earplugs. Our coffee machine wouldn’t make a full pot. It would help to have another way to make coffee, like a kettle with a French press or pour-over cone.

Geraldo, the property manager, made me feel welcome right away. He was kind and professional, brought me decaf, and replaced the old coffee maker. I also appreciated being able to check in early. I stayed in room #8, which was spacious, nicely decorated, and centrally located. The deck was lovely, and the room was a great place to relax. I can’t wait to return.

Anderson Valley Inn is a clean, charming place to stay in the Anderson Valley. It’s close to the wineries, which makes it a convenient base for wine tasting, and I appreciated that it welcomes dogs.

The property is private and quiet at night, which we liked, but the price felt high, probably because there aren’t many other places to stay nearby. On arrival, the entrance needed sweeping and the floors needed vacuuming. We left a note about the cleaning when we checked out. There also weren’t enough plates or silverware for three people. We found only one fork, and after we told management, someone had to drive all the way from Ukiah to bring what was missing. The body wash dispenser was empty the next morning. We asked for it to be refilled while we were out, but when we got back there was a bottle of shampoo outside the room instead. For what we paid, the stay was disappointing. Unless the upkeep improves, we probably won’t return.
