Extended Stay America Suites Phoenix Biltmore

I was here on my own for work for about a month and a half, and felt good walking around the area as a solo woman. I could get to shops and food on foot, with restaurants and a shopping center just down the street. There’s also a trail right behind the hotel for a walk or some exercise. I had a great stay, thank you! The indigenous girl at check-in was especially lovely, so kind and friendly. Please pass along my thanks. 🩷

I’ve been coming here for about three years because it’s close to a relative’s home. The hotel used to be a one-star experience for me, but the full remodel has really changed things. My room was clean and huge, with a very nice bathroom and tiled walk-in shower (room 132). The bed was super comfortable, on the medium-firm side. There’s a small workout room and a nice pool, too. I’d call it a solid three-star hotel, but a double king for $90 makes it closer to a 3.5 for the value. A good place to stay in the Phoenix Biltmore area.

The employees were nice, but the policies got in the way whenever we needed something. We asked for two extra pillows to help my partner sleep comfortably and were only offered one. The hot tub and pool are open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., so I couldn’t use them before work. And the advertised “free” breakfast was just a handful of oatmeal packets, granola bars, and sugary muffins, not useful to us. We picked this place because it was near where we needed to be. In hindsight, a short drive to somewhere with services we could actually use would have been worth it. I won’t stay at an Extended Stay America Suites again.

I stayed about a month and a half, and my remodeled third-floor room was very nice. The property was clean, the hot tub was a highlight, and my second room looked out over the pool and Camelback Mountain. It’s close to a busy shopping and dining area but far enough away to feel peaceful, with a nice park and the 51 Fwy entrance nearby. Brittney helped me several times, always with a smile and real professionalism. She deserves to be at least an assistant manager. Aside from the front desk problems, I’d highly recommend this hotel. The weekend and night desk staff seemed to know only the basics and weren’t well trained. On my Saturday check-in, a woman filling in from another property took my license, stepped out to deal with something, then couldn’t find it when she came back. I told her I’d handed it over, and she asked what she’d do with it. It turned up under a pile of papers. Later, that same employee kindly reinstated my monthly reservation after it was accidentally cancelled, but entered it incorrectly, so my price jumped to the highest rack rate. I had to wait for the GM to be in, which was unsettling. I stayed six weeks and was late with rent only the first time it came due. Because of that, I got locked out of the back door an hour after the payment deadline. Two desk employees were nice and made me a new key, but neither realized the late rent might be why the key stopped working. The next day, another employee said I owed over $900, about $300 more for one week. She couldn’t explain the bill, used a paper calendar and calculator, and kept saying there was no late fee, just a higher charge because I was a day late. I was confused, and she couldn’t or wouldn’t print the bill. She also worked as a maid. It was a stressful situation until the weekend was over. Vanessa the GM eventually fixed the whole bill, and I appreciated that. Promoting maids to the desk is fine, but they need more training. If a guest is locked out, it may help to check whether their rent is due.
