Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix/Scottsdale

Adrienne and Jason at the front desk were awesome. I usually stay somewhere else when I come to Phoenix, which is pretty often, but everything was booked during spring training and I barely managed to get a room here. Glad I did. This is my go-to from now on, and I’ve already booked another stay. Thanks, guys, you rock!

The worst part was waking up Monday to dried blood on the sheets of both beds. I checked in Friday, and rooms are cleaned every second night. I told the front desk when checking out and was told someone would call, but no one ever did. The hallways also looked and smelled really old. The outside grounds and courtyard are beautiful, and the front desk crew were attentive and helpful. Still, this place feels very tired inside, from the hallways to the rooms and bathrooms. On the second night the room door wouldn’t latch when closed. I don’t know how long it had been like that, or whether someone could have walked in while we were asleep or out for the day. The front desk fixed it after I spoke with them. Breakfast was decent, parking was plentiful, and the staff were friendly. With investment in the property, it could eventually feel up to the level of other Hampton inn properties.

We were here for a wedding in Arizona and had a great stay. The room was amazing, and breakfast was delicious. They let us check out an extra hour later while we waited for our ride, which we really appreciated. It’s such a pretty place, and I’d definitely stay again when visiting family.

The front desk clerks were great about answering our questions and brought us extra towels when we needed them. The rooms weren’t getting housekeeping during our stay, so front desk staff had to provide the towels themselves. The room was mediocre and due for an update. The carpet looked dirty, there was an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom was outdated with a very low toilet. The hotel is surrounded by whatever you might need, but it may not be a good location if you’re walking. Hilton booked me here for a sales tour. I agreed because I planned to visit the area anyway and thought I was getting a discounted rate at a great hotel. I was wrong. If I’d known, I would’ve booked my own place and paid for better rooms. I guess not every discount is a good idea.
