Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phoenix/Chandler (Ahwatukee)

The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating while we tried to find a decent room, but the hotel itself was horrible. We changed rooms three times before finding one we felt relatively comfortable in. One smelled strongly of smoke, even though it's a non-smoking hotel. We're not picky, but this place was crazy dirty, with stains on the carpet and in the bathroom, and very uncomfortable beds. We'd prepaid for three nights through a third-party site. After one long, sleepless night, we left the property and accepted that we wouldn't get a refund. That's how bad it was. The owner and manager should be ashamed.

We rented the conference room for a two-day meeting, and it was comfortable. The hotel staff were attentive. Our guest room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows. The trouble was its location right next to the kitchen. Workers were loud, and some kind of alarm kept going off, which made it distracting.

Sierra made a great first impression at the front desk. She was so friendly and helpful that within a minute I could tell the stay would be delightful. Since I was new to the area, she suggested dinner options and a good bar nearby, since the hotel doesn't have one. The rooms were clean and fresh, and breakfast the next morning, served by Bill, was better than expected. I'll definitely stay here again.

The pool area was lovely, though I forgot my swimsuit. We were happy with the room, the desk clerk, and breakfast. The women working in the breakfast area were great too. The location is convenient, right off I-10, and the rates this time of year were great, half what we usually pay. We've never had a bad experience at any Holiday Inn Express.
