The Henry Smith House

Being close to the venue was a real plus, but THE ANNEX fell short of what we expected for the amount we paid. The bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned, and there were webs and dust in the house. The floors and rugs were dirty, and there weren’t any detergents available to deal with it. We also didn’t have enough towels or other things guests needed. We’d talked about using the outdoor grill from the start, but when we checked in it was filthy and had no gas tank. At the event venue, tables weren’t being cleared, apparently because there weren’t enough staff. It was a one-time family occasion, and none of this ruined our good mood, but anyone considering “the only venue on town” should keep these issues in mind.

The venue is absolutely beautiful, and the staff were so lovely. I had my wedding here recently, and Dustin helped me plan it all. He made the whole process feel easy, while Sarah kept the actual day moving smoothly. Whenever something came up, they dealt with it quickly and went above and beyond to keep the day free of hiccups. I can’t recommend them enough to anyone thinking of getting married here.

Dustin and the whole team at The Henry Smith House made our wedding weekend feel easy. They were there for us from the early planning through the wedding itself, always answering questions and offering ideas. We barely had to worry about anything, and their care and experience made a big difference. The food and florals were everything we’d hoped for. The property is lovely on its own, and the decorative pieces we had on the day added a little something extra. The venue’s decor also set a beautiful mood, and every detail felt considered. We and our guests will remember that atmosphere for a long time. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or team. I highly recommend The Henry Smith House for a special event. The Henry Smith House was a dream for our wedding weekend, and the food was amazing. The landscape was beautiful, and the staff were wonderful throughout our stay. Dustin and Gabe were fun to work with, clearly talented, and it was obvious how much they care about their work. They did a phenomenal job, and I was blown away by how beautiful everything turned out. We got married there on 3/15/25 and booked the accommodations for the whole weekend. A storm surge brought a level 4 threat across Louisiana and Mississippi all day Saturday, but Dustin and his team handled everything, so I never had to stress about the weather. Personal matters also delayed our reception, and Dustin and Gabe were understanding and accommodating. On Thursday night before the rehearsal dinner, I realized I hadn’t made table placement cards. When we got to the venue, I was amazed by how beautiful everything looked, and the coordinators had written the cards for me. Every interaction leading up to the wedding was wonderful. If, like me, you hate DIY and planning decor and timelines, booking here can save you time and energy. I only had to handle our signs, pictures and frames, party favors, and coordinating with our other vendors before the big day. I couldn’t have asked for better coordinators or a better venue, and I’m so grateful for how stress-free the weekend was. The property and staff were worth every penny.
