Hampton Motel

There was quite a bit of train traffic, but it was easy to tune out. The service was great, there was plenty of parking, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The rooms are pretty damn clean for their age. They even shoveled a little walkway for me without being asked, which was so nice.

I’d rather stay at a chain hotel, but I’ve been in a lot worse places. My overall experience here was pretty good. We got stuck in Hampton, and the Americ inn was full. I wanted to drive to another town, but my coworkers wanted to sleep, so we stayed here. The place looks a little run down, though not too bad, and the rooms were dated but clean. There’s a balcony on the top floor, which I didn’t use. The shower drained very slowly and left a few inches of water by the end, though it did the job. There was a flyswatter in the room, which I used once.

The bed was the best part. I slept like a baby, and the shower was great. The room was very clean but outdated, and really small. Outside was clean too, though the building needs some TLC. For the price I paid, I expected more. Would I stay again? Yes. I’ve worked over the road for 20 years and spend over 200 nights a year in motels.

Dawn was so accommodating and helped us get into a room. The rooms were very clean, and she had a great conversation and such a positive attitude. Dawn, thank you very much for the stay. We really appreciate you. You’re the greatest.
