This property has an interesting history, and the owners were thorough and available if we needed them. My son-in-law and I stopped here on our way through, and it was a very clean place for a layover. The check-in email was a little confusing because the first one gave an earlier time than the later email. Keep in mind check-in is at 3 p.m. No problem, though, since Pinhoti Pizza Company is nearby with great stone oven pizzas, and Piedmont is lucky to have Lickin Good Donut shop serving Kolaches for breakfast.

The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and we brought our own food to heat up. There were also snacks, breakfast foods, coffee, and a full refrigerator. The breakfast muffin was especially good and powered me up for the rides. We stayed two nights while cycling the Silver Comet and Chief Ladiga Trails. There were three of us, each with our own space across two bedrooms and a pullout, and the beds and bathroom were well appointed. The bathroom even had anything you might need if you’d forgotten it. It was quiet and convenient to the village, just two blocks from the Ladiga Trail, so we rolled out of the locked covered porch and rode without driving to the trail. Incredible stay, highly recommend. Ben does an amazing job!

We loved being able to walk or bike to the things we wanted to see and do. The hosts were thoughtful and attentive to details, and staying here was such a neat experience. We also used what we’d started learning about the house to find "Uncle Jerry's" grave. We found out that many local places close on Mondays.

A really comfortable place to stay overnight if you’re coming off the Chief Ladiga trail. I enjoyed the snacks and drinks they leave out for guests.

Such a unique stay, and the place is a real jewel. They’ve thought of all sorts of details for travellers, especially cyclists, since it’s just two blocks from the Chief Ladiga trail. Highly recommend!
