I gave up on staying here and had to find another hotel after midnight. After a 14-hour trip, I got in around 11:00 PM expecting a clean, safe place to sleep. Instead, the condition and atmosphere made me uncomfortable, especially as a woman traveling alone. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who cares about cleanliness, dignity, or personal safety. The clerk at the front desk was polite and tried to help by moving me twice, but every room had the same problems. That made it clear this wasn’t limited to one room. In the first, the bathroom was filthy and unsanitary, the blankets were stained, the wood was warped, and the furniture looked old and dated. There was a microwave sitting on a table, and the carpet looked like it might have been there since the hotel opened. The online photos are very misleading. The current state of the property looks nothing like them, and adding a few things doesn’t cover years of neglect. The lobby was dirty, and even the outside concrete looked as if it had never been power-washed. This place needs major renovations and serious oversight. Don’t be fooled by the pictures.

We only lasted about 90 minutes. The room was filthy and had roaches, and once we spotted the first one we left. I felt dirty all over, and it was the nastiest place I’ve ever stayed. Everything else nearby was booked, so we gave it a try. I ended up buying an air mattress and sleeping at my office instead.

The rates are really reasonable, and the staff have been more than accommodating and keen to help. I’m still staying here, after difficult circumstances first brought me to Virginia. I’m a very happy customer!

I’ve been here for over two months, and it’s been a pleasant stay. People are polite, and the staff do a great job accommodating guests. They respond promptly to needs, complaints, and concerns. My main annoyances are that the office never has quarters for the washers and dryers, and a few guests gather at the front every day for what I jokingly call the nighttime community meeting. My room is right beside them, so it gets annoying. Aside from that, things have been very pleasant.

The kitchen facilities and convenient location worked well for me, and my room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating too. I had a great stay at Extended Stay America and would recommend it for either a short visit or a longer one.
