The water temperature control was broken, and when the faucet moved on its own to the hottest setting, my husband was burned in the shower. The toilet seat wasn't fastened, and the toilet itself wasn't fixed to the floor. I tried it and it shifted about six inches. We also saw exposed electrical wires coming from the ceiling and sprinkler heads covered with napkins. We were the only people on our floor, but the clerk put a mother and child in the room beside us despite vacant rooms across the hall. The clerk wasn't at the desk when I went to complain. At checkout, the clerk took our room card but didn't check us out until 7:59 the next morning, although we had left around 10 p.m. the night of the incidents. I asked for a refund for that night and called Choice Hotels to make a formal complaint. The general manager said refunds were only available within 30 minutes of check-in, and refused mine. Choice Hotels said it could only offer membership points, since each facility is independently owned and refunds are up to management. Management is a joke. Don't spend your hard-earned money here or at any Choice Hotels facility, you'll be disappointed.

After being outside training for 72 hours in a heat index of 110, all I wanted was a shower and a cool room. Instead, I got a terrible stay that wasn't worth $80 or more a night. I was assigned a room on the sixth floor, and the front desk agent warned it might be hot but should cool down in 15 minutes. The hallway was around 90 degrees with no AC, and my room was even hotter. The AC only blew cool air about half the time. I left it running while I went to dinner at a nearby restaurant, but after more than an hour the room was barely cooler and never got below 80. The ceiling radiated heat, as if there wasn't enough insulation between it and the roof. Hard to believe every lower-floor room was occupied. If they were, they should have left this AC on so the room wasn't over 90. There were other problems from the start. Half the front door wouldn't open, which I imagine could violate fire egress rules. A portable AC at the counter vented hot air into the lobby. One elevator was out of service, and the other looked like it had been running since the 1970s. Ridiculous.

The parking lot was empty, which should've told me something. I picked this place because it was close to the airport for an early flight, but no one was at the desk when I arrived. I had to call a number to get someone to come out. The non-smoking room was awful: burn holes in the sheets, a TV that didn't work due to “weather conditions,” no phone, shredded curtains barely hanging up, and badly damaged walls. I left and checked out, and no one at the desk asked any questions. I've stayed at this hotel brand before, but this was by far the worst. The earlier reviews seem accurate.

I just needed somewhere to lie down for a couple of hours after my flight was delayed until the next day. This was one of the worst stays I've had. The supposedly non-smoking hotel reeked of cigarettes, and I waited a while for someone to check me in. The room was disgusting and hot, the cable was out, and the Wi-Fi didn't work. Worst of all, it was infested with roaches. Three greeted me as soon as I opened the door. I left immediately without even going all the way into the room. This should be the next set for American Horror Story. Don't stay here. You get what you pay for.
