The price was affordable, the location made it easy to get around Richmond, and there were shops and places to eat nearby. The lobby looked decent on arrival, check-in was fairly quick, and some parts of the room were okay. The bed was reasonably comfortable. But I found the hotel’s upkeep and cleanliness disappointing. Our room felt dated and neglected, with worn or stained carpet and marks on the walls. The bathroom didn’t feel clean enough, and the hallways smelled unpleasant and looked as if they needed a deep clean. Breakfast was included, but the choice was limited and the setup didn’t feel inviting or well maintained. The staff were polite, though service was uneven: basic requests sometimes took longer than they should, and details were missed. With better housekeeping, cleaner spaces, and some updates, it could be a decent budget option. As it is, I’m unsure I’d stay again without hearing about major improvements.

I’ve stayed here several times for work because of the location, and the friendly staff have treated me well. That doesn’t make up for the condition of the place or the price. It feels like a low-class motel passing as a hotel, and the rates don’t match the quality. In all three rooms I stayed in, the sheets had cigarette burns, the towels were yellow-stained, and the microwaves were rusty and chipping. One microwave sparked when I used it, and there was grease underneath. I also found urine stains around the toilet seats and trash along the edges of the floors, as if only the open areas had been swept or vacuumed. What finally made me write this was having no hot water. I called the front desk, and they asked for my room number as though only my room could be affected, then hung up. I never heard back. My employer paid for the stay, so I can’t just leave. I’ll have to wash with a rag in the sink and heat water in the microwave. This place shouldn’t cost more than $50 a night: online it shows $51, but when you try to book it’s in the $70s. Sleep inn down the street is much better. I don’t want an apology reply. This is how you people do business everywhere you take over, hygiene clearly isn’t your forte. And have you noticed nearly all the five-star reviews are anonymous? I’m not an anonymous five-star reviewer.

Being just off I-95 made getting on the road easy, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. My room had a fresh, modern look after its renovation, and it was clean, tidy, and comfortable, especially the cozy bed. I really enjoyed staying here and would come back.
