Ramkota Hotel

Jason at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, and the rooms were very nice with comfortable beds. Dinner at the Riparian pub and cafe in the motel was a major letdown. I felt bad for the waitress, who was very busy and was the only server on duty apart from the bartender. We waited an hour, and all the food arrived cold. The grilled steak on the cold nachos was charred black and really unappetizing. The onion rings and burger might have been good if they’d been hot.

I’ve been working in Pierre and staying at the Ramkota in Pierre for a few months, and it’s been a great experience. Sheena starts my day off right with an awesome breakfast and a positive attitude, and Jason at the front desk always puts a smile on my face. Manager Debi has also been very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend it!

The room was spacious and comfortable, and I had a nice meal at the on-site restaurant. The outside looks a bit drab and could use a facelift. Finding my room in area “C” around back was confusing, and I had to drive all the way around the building to locate the closest entrance. There’s no elevator, so hauling my bags upstairs was a bit of a challenge. Maybe a staff person could be available to help. Thank you!

Check-in was easy and friendly, and the on-site restaurant is great. The new rooms are really nice compared with when I stayed last year, though they’re still noisy, and running a fan can block most of that out. My only complaint is the gorgeous fish tank with its really cool fish. The water was murky, and I felt bad for the fish. If you keep living things as decoration, they need proper care and maintenance. It’s a small complaint at an otherwise lovely hotel.
