9 Bedroom Roscoe's Retreat by Hosteeva

The location is handy, close to the Pigeon Forge strip and roughly 25 minutes from Gatlinburg. There's plenty of room here, with jacuzzi tubs, a big upstairs rec room, and more space downstairs. Still, several things need attention: one room only had cold water, there were ants in another, the toaster had a cut cord, the toaster oven didn't work, and the knives were too dull to use well. The upkeep seems to have slipped. The ownership name has changed, so I wondered if management had changed too. I understand this is now owned by “Venture Resort.” I'd stay again, but hope these issues are fixed first.

Mr. David was kind and accommodating, and suggested attractions and restaurants we might otherwise have missed. We had a great family getaway, with enough room for everyone, and the kids were thrilled with the bunk beds and pool table. My wife and I especially loved the hot tub and private in-room Jacuzzi tub. The view was breathtaking, and the amenities were spectacular. We’ll definitely come back.

I loved spending time with my family, but the cabin itself was a letdown. The WiFi was down, the bedrooms were much too small and had no closets or drawers, and we had to buy extra towels and washcloths. The kitchen was smaller than mine at home, even though I have a three-bedroom place, and the dishwasher didn't work right. Taking trash out meant going to bins at the bottom of the hill. Upstairs, the pullout beds were broken. The pool table was uneven, and one pocket had a hole, so the balls kept dropping out. Family time was good, but I didn't enjoy the place much.

We were there for a youth and family retreat. The rooms were good, but the air conditioning never made things comfortable, so we had to buy extra fans. It mostly needs some general maintenance.
