Cambria Hotel Pigeon Forge

The room was very clean, though the bleach smell on the towels and sheets was strong. There wasn't a microwave in the room, so we had to take food to the lobby to heat it. Wi-Fi barely worked in our room. The pool setup also felt questionable for safety, since anyone could walk up to it through a lift-up gate with no key card. It isn't actually on a rooftop, there's no shade, and sometimes the air smelled like sewer. The fire was out of service on our third night, with no explanation, even though we like sitting around it in the evenings. At check-in, we had an issue that was quickly sorted out by the manager because the employee didn't speak English well. We didn't get a good morning or a smile during our stay. Staff seemed to be on their phones a lot, and when we checked out very early, the front desk person was asleep in the lobby. I wouldn't stay again, there are much better options in Pigeon Forge.

The staff were kind and friendly, and we found this place to be clean, modern, and nicely decorated. The location was convenient and the price was great. We had comfortable beds, lots of towels, and excellent water pressure. Breakfast was delicious and felt worth the cost compared with fast food. There were omelets, waffles, bacon, potatoes, breads, fruit, cereal, and yogurt. Coffee and hot tea were complimentary, and there was a small canteen with snacks. A nice little gem we happened upon.

It's beautifully decorated, and the downstairs was very clean. The location is great, close to everything including Dollywood, and the staff were nice. But we stayed four nights and our room was never cleaned, even after I asked following the first night. We hadn't put the sign up. I had to ask for towels after night two, then washcloths after night three. On the last night, they brought toilet paper and towels, but didn't change the sheets or clean. The beds were called queens, though they felt more like fulls. I also tried to extend our stay by a night. The front desk man seemed unsure how to do it, told me to call in the morning to check availability, then asked me to book online after checking. I hung up and called back, knowing that might mean changing rooms. He then said the system was down. I went down in the morning and spoke with someone else, who extended us but forgot to keep our key active, so we had to go back for access to the room.

The service is great and it's a very nice place. I stay here often, even though there are no microwaves in the rooms. I bring a small one of my own because I don't want to walk to the lobby just to heat water for tea or warm up a snack. One strange thing: my cell reception gets bad as soon as I pull into the parking lot, and only while I'm on the property. Go figure.
