Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Pigeon Forge South, TN

We left our vacation early because we felt uncomfortable and unsafe at the Country Inn by Radisson (owned by Umamaya). There was visible mold in the fifth-floor hallway by the elevator, and the elevator felt very sketchy. We also couldn’t open the stairwell door from that floor, which seems like a major hazard in a fire or other emergency. The balcony railing in our room was loose and didn’t feel secure. There were dead flies on the window sill, and the whole hotel smelled strongly of chemicals. After a few hours, the odor started affecting my breathing. With the mold, safety concerns, insects, chemical smell, and general cleanliness problems, the stay was unacceptable and concerning. I rarely post negative reviews, but I wouldn’t recommend this place until these serious issues are addressed.

The rooms were a decent size, but putting the bed right next to the door was an odd choice. The bathroom had an extremely strong paint smell, like it had just been painted. Housekeeping only came one day during our stay. They took the garbage but didn’t change the sheets or clean, and one of my items went missing. Then they left an envelope asking for a tip. Breakfast wasn’t very good.

We had a lovely Valentine's weekend getaway and would happily come back. The room was clean, spacious, and cozy, and the pool was nice and open. Breakfast had a tasty variety. The hotel’s location was excellent, at the end of town and just a short drive from Gatlinburg.

Breakfast was great, but the room itself was awkward and small. I didn’t like the cabinet setup for the fridge and microwave, and the coffee maker didn’t work right. The TV was small too. The hallways were narrow and smelled bad, and the carpet needed cleaning. I also made a special request, then learned later it hadn’t been granted because the employee hadn’t read it.
