Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Pigeon Forge

The rooms were very tidy and the location was nice, but that didn’t make up for the staff’s lack of urgency when supplies ran out. At breakfast, with a whole hour still to go, they knew there was no oatmeal, knives, or coffee creamer and chose not to fix it. Later, when someone reported that the creamer was gone, they still didn’t replace it. At 7 PM they decided nobody could get coffee anymore and put away the coffee and hot water.

The breakfast was the standout for me. It changed a little each day, was always fresh, and had just about everything: eggs, sausage, ham one morning, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, and really good waffles. The front desk staff were friendly, too. Our room was modern and very clean, though nothing fancy. The fridge was disappointing since it had no separate freezer, and even on the coldest setting it didn't get very cold. I'd rather have a small fridge with a freezer for things I want to keep frozen. I'd come back.

We’re planning to stay here again on our next Pigeon Forge trip. It’s a simple, affordable little hotel, close to the island and other attractions, and it was extremely clean and well kept. The staff seemed to do their best to make sure guests had a good stay. Our bed was comfortable, and having two TVs in the room was a nice surprise. Breakfast was pretty good, too.

The bathroom was spotless, and the rest of the hotel was clean and okay for our one-night stop on the way to Charleston. The mattress could use replacing, though the bed was acceptable. Breakfast was average. I expected yogurt and biscuits and gravy at a southern hotel, but neither was there. They did have oatmeal, French toast sticks, scrambled eggs, ham, waffles you could make yourself, hard-boiled eggs, milk, juice, coffee, bagels, and bread. The breakfast room was very large.
