We stayed in Unit 5604 from December 14-19, 2025. The convenient, quiet location and plenty of parking were positives, but the condo didn't meet basic cleanliness or hosting standards. It was clear on arrival that it hadn't been properly cleaned. There was visible mold in the bathroom and inside the washing machine, with trash in the washer and more trash in baskets under the small red living-room table. The carpets were heavily soiled, the unit was very dusty, and there were nuts or food scraps under the furniture, which was especially concerning with our one-year-old. Dish soap and other basic essentials were missing too. The place felt minimally maintained rather than thoughtfully hosted. We contacted the host about the cleanliness. They offered to send someone, but there was no safe for our belongings, and we had plans, so we couldn't wait around for cleaning that should have happened before arrival. The host stopped communicating after that first message. The pool and hot tub areas also looked poorly maintained and dirty, with other guests' clothes scattered around. If you expect even basic cleanliness and a responsive host, this may not be the right place.

Tracy got us moved into 3207, which was lovely and roach-free, and I appreciated how she handled it. We’ve stayed here before without a problem and would come back to 3101 or 3207. But the first two days this time were awful, and I’d check 3201 carefully before renting it. We were there February 12-15 with my son, his fiancée, and their month-old baby. In 3201 I first saw a bug go down the shower drain, then a roach on the wall in the next room. I contacted the manager late that night and sent photos the next day. Maintenance reportedly sprayed while we were out. When we got back, there were roaches and droppings in the dishwasher, plus six roaches in a crevice by the counter. Maintenance came again, saw the bugs and droppings, sprayed, and said he’d report it. Later, though, he claimed he’d only seen a ladybug. We took photos and videos and asked to see another unit before moving our things, but were told no. We were ready to check out and wanted either a refund or a different place. Tracy found an available unit and moved us. The roaches in 3201 were under the sink, by the water heater and fuse box, on floors in every room, under the dishwasher, and in the bedrooms. I don’t want anyone else to have that experience.

We cut our stay short and still haven’t been refunded for the condo. We came over Thanksgiving expecting Bear’s Den cabin, but it was filthy, with dead bugs everywhere, so they refunded that and moved us to Mountain View Condo 2407. That place was disgusting too, with ladybugs and stink bugs getting in through holes in the walls. The floors were damaged, with panels coming loose. I slipped on one and hurt my wrist. They were dirty, and the kitchen drain wouldn’t empty. For what we paid, this was a huge disappointment. Bear Cove Cabins clearly didn’t maintain these places, and it ruined our vacation.

My mother is disabled, and we’re staying on the fifth floor. The elevator stopped working yesterday morning, so we had to carry her up all five flights of stairs. That’s unacceptable. The management company still hasn’t fixed it, even though elevator specialists are available around the clock. We’re renting through Casco Smoky Mountains.

The roach on the end table was when we’d had enough. Mom had gone to bed, and the rest of us were sitting there in the evening when it crawled across beside us. It took my sister a couple of hours to get anyone to agree to a refund and find us a motel. Airbnb eventually returned my money because the host never answered. By then it was 10:30 PM, Mom was overwhelmed, and we were close to a medical emergency. We canceled the trip and took her home. We’d rented UNIT number 2102 for one last girls’ trip with our 83-year-old mom, whose health is failing. At first the condo looked okay, though the glass doors were dirty and the woodwork needed washing. With two- and three-year-olds who don’t like shoes, we quickly saw how dirty the floors were. Their feet got filthy, and the dryer was still full of the previous guest’s sheets and towels. We cleaned it ourselves rather than switch units. It took four buckets of mop water before the floors seemed clean enough. I sent property management photos, and all they offered was a later checkout Saturday if nobody booked that night. I wouldn’t recommend this condo. I’m attaching photos.
