I wouldn't recommend this place for families, especially with kids. I paid $400 a week, and to me it was a rip-off. There are only 10 rooms, and I saw four that I felt were drug-infested. There's no laundry on site or anywhere nearby. The owners were rude, and the front desk staff barely spoke English, which made communication difficult. The train tracks are right across the road, with trains passing about twice an hour all day and night, so it's noisy.

The bathroom was dirty and dated, and the sink wouldn't drain. I was also made to leave a cash deposit for the TV remote. On top of that, the owner charged me twice for the room and wouldn't refund the mistaken extra charge. I had to dispute it with my credit card company, and the refund could take up to six weeks.

My husband, his parents, and I stayed here while visiting Ohio, and we're not coming back. The TV didn't work, the bed covers had cigarette burns, and the bathroom was nasty. When we asked for clean towels or anything else, they wouldn't give us any. Do better.

The beds were huge and comfortable, the room spacious, clean, and affordable, and the people were good. I slept like a baby, and there was a nice hot shower, a good-sized mini fridge, a TV with plenty of channels, and a sofa with a proper desk and office chair for a laptop or PC. It had the amenities I needed and more. There's only a microwave for cooking, which I actually prefer since people can be slobs, lol. I'm not sure why the reviews are all over the place, because for the money I thought it was perfect. If I'm in the area again, I'll happily stay there. It's family owned and run by great people. I even sweet-talked them into making me a dinner plate for 10 bucks. Worth it, lol, though that's not really a hotel feature. If you're heading south, leave early. The drive through there looks like the Smokey mountains.
