Pinconning Trail Inn Motel

7/29/25. The outside was very clean, and the staff were accommodating, even letting us check in early. We chose this mom-and-pop motel because of its high ratings on Bookings.com, which aren't dated, and paid only a few dollars less than we could have at the casino down the road. The jacuzzi room was a letdown. It's at the back near the laundry, down a very warm hallway, and was quite small with a queen bed. The air fresheners were so strong we had to move them into the hall. The AC struggled to cool the room, and even with a fan we brought, the carpet between the unit and bed stayed damp and made our feet sticky. The bathroom door was warped and wouldn't close. A man told us the jacuzzi hot water had been turned off and to try it to see if it was back on. It was, but that made us wary, so we didn't use it. The bathroom may have been updated recently, and the shower stall was nice, which is why I gave it three stars. The other rooms might be okay, but I wouldn't recommend booking this one.

We travel for ten months of the year, so hotels matter to us, and we really enjoyed staying here. The staff are wonderful, accommodating, and very engaged with guests.

Piconning is a pleasant little town with a few places to eat, a couple of bars, some gas stops, a grocery store, and a recreation shop. I was camping in the UP and decided to split the drive home to PA over two days instead of one. I called at the last minute and got a room for me and my dogs. The $25 per-dog fee seemed reasonable to me, because my babies are my babies. The lady in charge was polite and businesslike, which I prefer, and made sure I was taken care of. I'll plan to stay here again on my way to and from the UP next year.

We were pleasantly surprised by our one-night stay in room 10. The bathroom was spotless, and the room itself was immaculate, clean, and bright. The fridge worked, as did the AC and TV, and every bulb was working. We had plenty of pillows in different firmnesses to choose from, and the beds were supportive and comfortable. Slept like the dead and woke up refreshed. I'll find excuses to stay here again.
