The spot is convenient, with two great restaurants just down the street and easy access to Rhinebeck and Red Hook. The local Bread Alone bread at breakfast was delicious, too. Beyond that, breakfast felt much like a Hampton Inn's, with Smuckers grape jelly instead of local jam. I was also surprised there was no Harney tea, since it's made in the next town. The rooms are nice enough, but noise carries badly. Our upstairs neighbors were stomping around at 6:30 AM and woke us. It was unusually damp and cold that weekend, 48° at night, and the owner had turned off the heat, so we couldn't warm the room much. The toilet paper was the cheapest one-ply kind, and the Roku TV was a pain to use if you're unfamiliar with it. You can't even watch local news, for example. I don't understand the 4.9 rating. It's okay, and you could do worse, but you could do better. If you're after a quaint, romantic country inn with a roaring fireplace, this isn't it. The area is great to visit, but next time we'll look elsewhere to stay. I'd give it three stars because there's no 2.5-star option.

The rooms at The Inn at Pine Plains were beautiful and clean, and the location is great. But the owner made us feel unwelcome throughout the weekend. We were there for my son's wedding at the Stissing House (Amazing!), and she was inappropriately nosy and seemed to find fault with everything we did. I felt defensive, and she spoke negatively to some guests about other guests. I've never had an experience like this or written a review like this before, so I didn't submit these comments lightly. She put a damper on what had been a beautiful weekend. I won't recommend the Inn or stay there again. So sad...

The inn was spotless everywhere, the cleanest I've ever stayed in, and the staff were lovely. We were right in the center of town, so dinner was an easy walk, with all the surrounding towns and countryside close by for exploring. The rooms were wonderful. Breakfast was continental and just right to get the day started. I can't recommend it highly enough. We'll be back!

We arrived at midnight after driving 5 1/2 hours, wishing we'd made it earlier so we could enjoy the place longer. The inn was lovely, with a cozy interior, a clean, well-kept room, an incredibly soft bed and sheets, and an amazing shower head with great pressure. In the morning there was fresh bread, hot coffee, and a kitchen where we could help ourselves. It felt like home away from home. My husband and I needed somewhere to stay overnight in New York at the last minute, near Copake, and found the inn through Google. The owner was so warm, down to earth, inviting, informative, and caring when we spoke. She felt like a long-lost aunt we hadn't seen or spoken to in years. After that conversation, we felt confident about staying. If we need a place in this part of New York again, this is where we'll go. We're happy we found it and had such a great conversation with the owner. You won't regret your stay!

Patti was incredibly accommodating after I messed up the booking at first. We had a lovely one-night stay. The house was quaint and quiet, we slept great, and having a kitchen in our room made it easy to take care of some basic things. Highly recommend it on all fronts.
