Comfort Inn Pinehurst - Southern Pines

The check-in and checkout were quick, and everyone I dealt with was courteous and helpful. I stayed four days for work, and the hotel was very quiet. My room was clean, and housekeeping was attentive. The breakfast was okay for what it was. The only thing that bothered me was a humming sound from the mini fridge; otherwise, no complaints.

After a long drive, this was a really nice place to stop and rest. The room was clean, nothing seemed to be falling apart, and the shower got wonderfully hot.

I only ended up here because a tournament filled the nearby hotels and this was the sole option left. The lobby had a stale, cigarette-like smell, and the place looked old and dirty on the way to my room. Inside, it was worse. The bathroom was poorly kept, and the floors were so sticky I had to wear flip-flops. I slept there because I had nowhere else to go, then woke in the night feeling like bugs were crawling on my arms and legs. I was so disgusted and disoriented that I went out to my truck to try to sleep. I had a two-room suite, and still, this place was nasty. I left early the next morning and told the front desk. I filed a complaint right away and got a case number. I plan to follow up so this doesn't happen to other people traveling for work or with family. I threw away the clothes and shoes I'd worn inside because I didn't want to bring an infestation home. It made me sick to my stomach. The standards here are appalling for a place taking customers' money. Other reviews describe the same filthy, trashy conditions. This isn't typical of the area; I've stayed at some good nearby hotels. For the same price, you can do much better. Stay far away. If you book here, you'll regret it.

Really good stay. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. Ms. K even got the included breakfast ready early for our group of eight, which helped a lot.
