Pine Mountain Inn

The beds sagged badly, and there were food crumbs between the sheet and mattress cover. The floors were gross, the showers had mold, and we killed several German cockroaches in the kitchen, bedrooms, and eating area. We also found that the space wasn't private as we expected from VRBO: at least three other parties came into what we thought we'd rented for ourselves. The host was difficult to reach and slow to answer. There weren't enough towels or washcloths for the number of people allowed in the rooms. The tiny showers had little water pressure, and you had to be inside to turn them on; handheld shower heads would help while waiting for the water to warm. We did manage to bring a large family together for a memorial service, and there was plenty of parking.

The price was great, and the location was hard to beat. The room and the rest of the place were clean, and everything was as it should be. There wasn't staff on site, but they were easy to reach. It's a charming spot, and I'll stay here again.

I didn't stay. The place was filthy, with dirt everywhere and used toothpicks in the loveseat. I left a message and am still waiting to hear back. I'm surprised anyone called it clean.

We got back to the room and fell asleep after my mom got tired. Earlier, we'd walked over to the square for tacos, where we saw three places open. The kitchen had everything you might need, though we didn't shower; there was a bathroom, but we couldn't find the heat remote. The side door opened onto a backyard where we could take the dogs away from the road. I even got a Pineville souvenir from home, since Dollar General and Walgreens had Pineville clothes. We'd picked this place when searching for a stay in Pineville on booking.com. There were a few issues on arrival, but once we were settled, it was fine. I texted the number and got an immediate reply.
