Bear Creek Motel And Cabins

The views are breathtaking, and the cabins feel so cozy. My husband and I have stayed here several times now, and every visit has been a great experience. They even provide a log for the fireplace.

We brought our sweet dog and had such a peaceful stay. Every cabin welcomes pets, which is unusual to find in a place this quiet and serene. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and everything felt clean, comfortable, and cozy. We’ll definitely come back.

The roads are very tight, and the cabins could use a bit more upkeep. If you’re overweight or don’t have good balance, this probably isn’t the place for you. They’re nice cabins, about 15 minutes outside Silver City.

There’s a lot to like about the atmosphere here, and I’d stay again if I’m in the area. We paid around $180, about what a standard hotel in a normal-sized town might cost, but enjoyed this setting much more. The place is a little off the beaten path, which has its upsides and downsides. It’s in Pinos Altos, about seven miles north of Silver City, on the highway to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. We stayed in Cabin 4, attached to Cabin 5, which was occupied during our visit. There were around 15 cabins, plus an office and gift shop. Sonya at registration was wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The shop had plenty of souvenirs, along with candy and refreshments. Our cabin had a parking spot nearby and a short path to the front door. Outside were a grill, a deck with a couple of chairs, and a picnic table. Inside, the living room had a fireplace with a TV above it, a couch facing the TV, and another chair. Two windows brought in natural light. When we turned on the heater, the thermostat got it roaring. The kitchenette was beside the couch, with a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, plates, dishes, and silverware. The bathroom behind it had soft towels, soap, shampoo, and a space heater. Upstairs, the bedroom was a sweet space, with a huge California king, a desk, a chair, and plenty of lamps. It had lots of windows too, plus a door opening onto a small deck with two chairs. A nice spot to get some fresh air.
