Pismo Beachwalker Inn & Suites

There’s a pool, an ice machine, and coffee at the front. The room had good lighting, and parking was available. You can easily walk to the beach and nearby amenities. They allow pets but charge cleaning fees, including for ESAs. My main complaints were the fan and AC: the fan barely worked and seemed mostly decorative, while the AC was so weak that cooling the room after a long beach day took hours. The fees were another issue.

Found this place on a whim and had a great stay. The rooms were clean and the price was fair. It’s pet friendly, though I don’t have a pet, and the owners and other guests were all kind, relaxed, and nice. I’d definitely stay again.

We booked two nights and liked the location, about a five-minute walk from the beach, until we woke up with bites and found a live bed bug. My husband put it in a cup, took it to the office, asked for a trash bag for our belongings, and told them we were checking out and wanted a full refund. They initially offered credit for just the unused night, so he had to push back. We were rushing out and forgot something in the room. After we’d been gone about 10 minutes, the man gave my husband a key to retrieve it, and housekeeping was already in the room with the beds made, turning it over for the next guest. We eventually got a full refund after some back and forth. The front desk man understood why we were angry, and the woman who checked us in had been nice, but we had to fight for the refund. That’s why I’d rate the service 2 stars. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Please think carefully before staying here. We won’t return, and I hope they take this seriously and treat the rooms.

The staff were really nice, and the location was great: we could walk to the boardwalk and lots of places to eat. But the room didn’t seem very clean, and the smell and noise put me off. It smelled a bit fishy. My boyfriend thought it might be because it was so close to the beach, but I wasn’t sure. We stayed two nights, and the walls were super thin. We could hear everything, literally everything, lol. Given what we paid, I could have stayed at the Hilton for the same price and gotten more amenities and a cleaner room without the smell and thin walls.
