Pismo Lighthouse Suites

We've stayed here several times and usually have a great experience, so this was really disappointing. We reserved back in August, but the website didn't tell us the hotel was undergoing renovations. We checked in today and found that the air and heater don't work. There's no other room available. The person at the front desk, Cindy, said the company wasn't planning to fix it because of the renovations. Basic heating and air aren't available, and it doesn't seem to be a concern.

Each night we had an amazing sunset right outside our ocean-facing room. We stayed in a comfortable double queen with two bathrooms, and it was clean with no dog hair anywhere, even though it's dog-friendly. The only kitchen service ware was two wine glasses, which made us laugh. Priorities, I guess. The hotel is well placed for getting to everything, including the highway, but it's still quiet. Renovations were going on, but we were told ahead of time. The only sign was sometimes having to use a different entrance. There's a path behind all the hotels that leads to the beach. Take it at sunset, you won't be disappointed.

The kids are loving the playground and pool, and they're excited about the board games. I really like the hot cocoa by the front desk. It's a lovely place, and the suite works perfectly for a family. The staff are so friendly.

We were on the third floor in room #3303, facing the ocean with an open view to both the left and right. I think the only better option might be corner room #3301. It's a total ocean-view stay at this sister hotel to Shore, and I'd definitely come back.
