The office staff were helpful and brought us pots, pans, and other kitchen items, and the owners allow pets. Still, for the price, the place fell short of what I expected, especially since this wasn't my first cabin rental. We spent Christmas there and ran into a lot of problems. The cabin looked beautiful, but the view wasn't as good as the photos suggested, and it felt smaller than pictured. There was nowhere to store the food we brought. The kitchen had enough dishes but very little cookware: one pan was peeling, a pot was burnt, and low water pressure made washing dishes difficult. The dishwasher wasn't an option either. The beds were noisy and uncomfortable. A small leak at the upstairs shower door let water into the bedroom below. The water heater kept shutting off, though thankfully the maintenance person showed us how to restart it. Otherwise they'd have had to come fix it at least twice a day. The fireplace wouldn't turn on, and the box of board and card games was incomplete and in poor shape.

The location and the house itself were really nice, but we had to clean before we could settle in. The floors were sandy and unswept, there were cobwebs, and the showers had mildew. I was also concerned that a railing was missing, especially with children and the house sitting so high up, so we blocked that area off. For what we paid, I expected better. I've stayed in much nicer places for less.

We had a good stay, and the hot tub on the deck was nice. The babbling brook was a definite bonus too. There are a lot of stairs, and some maintenance work needed doing while we were there.

The owner was so lovely and always reachable if we needed anything. It's a beautiful place, and I'd definitely come back and recommend it.
