We went to a timeshare meeting for Hilton grand vacations at this location. Trevor, the main sales guy we dealt with, was decent. The manager who came over to “approve” a non-sale was rude and emotionally charged. She got ill-tempered. If someone can't explain the benefits without getting short-tempered, talking down to people, and trying to pressure-sell, that doesn't inspire confidence. There were predatory lending and sales tactics. I'm sure the property itself is nice enough, but if you're reading reviews about the grand vacations side, buyer beware. Timeshares have a reason for the issues, lawsuits, and resale concerns people talk about. The pitch is built to persuade, and if you aren't savvy with your finances, they'll try to take advantage of that. This all happened after we were double-charged for a room and spent over an hour on the phone getting it resolved. Once the double charge was fixed, Hilton staff were curt and kept blaming the property, saying it wasn't a Hilton issue, even though the Hampton inn is a “Hilton property”. Hilton has gone downhill rapidly. I don't want to do business with a company that doesn't stand behind its own properties. The sales approach lacked integrity and was rude and uneducated. Salespeople should learn about interest rates, amortization, compounding interest, and investment before talking down to people who are fiscally responsible. Respect and humility go a long way. The manager said, “this isn’t my first time around the block, you just can’t see the value in it when other people do”, then also said that investing the $50k plus you would spend on vacation points meant you weren't seeing the big picture, calling it different “pieces of pie of money”. Telling us that getting a loan to pay off debt from buying $23k-50K of vacation “ownership” is how a lot of people do it is wild, and 1,000% not the way to financial freedom that actually lets you enjoy vacations. These might be great opportunities for some. But when they tell you at the start that it's okay if it's not for you, expect a theatrical presentation on the way to “no thanks”.
I attended a time share presentation today, and Brian the “closer” was disrespectful. I understand there's no pressure to buy, but he started explaining at length that my not becoming an owner wouldn't affect his life at all. He went into his afternoon plans and said he'd be playing battlefield 6. There are no-pressure salespeople, and then there are people taking little jabs at you.
The golf course and mountain views were beautiful, and this is easily one of my favorite hotels I've stayed at. My boyfriend and I stopped here on the way to Chicago, and I'm so glad we did. Hotel service matters to me, and Melanie and Taylor were fantastic. Melanie was friendly at check-in, made it comfortable, and answered all my questions. Taylor gave us helpful dinner recommendations for our first night and tips for Dollywood. Keep up the great work! We're already talking about coming back with friends, and can't wait.
We had a fantastic girls’ week here. It was peaceful and tucked away from the Parkway noise, but still close to the hiking trails and craft loop. The resort was lovely and well cared for, and Beth, the manager, was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Customer service was excellent.
We’d happily come back. The location worked really well, between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and the rooms, rates, and service were all great. Our room was spotless and updated without feeling like generic modern decor. The staff were friendly, and the pools had plenty of space. I heard good things about the golf course, though I don’t golf and didn’t try it. What a find.
