This may be the best property I’ve booked through my travel membership in 20 years. The cabin has two stories and sits among the woods, about a 15 min drive from downtown Gatlinburg. Beds are really comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, and every room has a full walk-in shower. There’s a screened porch at the back with a hot tub, which costs $50 for the week, plus rocking chairs on the front porch. The unit also has a stackable washer and dryer and an upstairs pool table. Definitely recommend it.

The manager who lives on site and rides around in a golf cart was not pleasant or helpful at all. There weren’t enough towels for all five of us to have one, and when we asked him, he said, “if you need more towels do laundry!” So some of us were supposed to shower, wash and dry towels, and then let the next people shower? Come on. His language and tone don’t belong in hospitality. We hadn’t even asked about toilet paper, but he made sure to tell us, “you’ll have to buy your own toilet paper also if you need some!” We will never stay there again.

We stayed there in July 2024 and had no complaints at the time. I’ve never had a problem traveling with my six-year-old service dog, who always comes with us. She’s a short-haired American pit with hair only a 1/4 long. The lodge was cleaned before we left, but I was charged $250 for extra cleaning because they complained about a smell and dog FUR. The cleaning crew didn’t know I had a service dog, though the caretaker did.

This is a nice little neighborhood for families with kids or older vacationers who want their own place without being tucked away on a hard-to-reach mountainside. There were a few minor comforts and a couple of supplies left by the booking team. We knew what to expect otherwise, so we brought detergent and things like that from home. A very good stay, and we’ll definitely do it again!

BEWARE! The property manager, who also enforces the HOA rules, is unhinged. I booked a cabin for a long weekend and chose a pet-friendly rental because I was bringing my dog. Later I learned that dogs aren’t allowed on the property at all. The small cabins are independently owned and rented, and the owner of my unit didn’t know the pet policy and had listed it as pet friendly. Mistakes happen, I get that. It was the way the on-site manager handled it that was the problem. He rides around on a golf cart, apparently checking that everyone follows the rules. When he saw my young son and me walking our dog, he came rushing over so fast it looked like he might run us down, then immediately berated me, saying dogs weren’t allowed on “his” property. He was hostile and aggressive from the start, with no attempt to be civil. I explained that my cabin listing clearly said it was pet friendly, but he didn’t seem interested. Things quickly turned into shouting and cursing at 7:30 in the morning. Then, bizarrely, he said he’d “let it slide this time,” presumably because he has no actual authority, but demanded that I keep the dog locked inside and threatened to call the cops if he saw it again. I chose to leave and give up the rental I’d already paid for. To the owners, this guy is a liability, and it feels like only a matter of time before something more serious happens. The property is nice, and if you like aggressively enforced HOA rules, it may suit you. Everyone else should steer clear until they get rid of the on-site male Karen.
