Comfort Inn Pittsburgh Crafton

We left after just one of our two nights because the bed was so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep much, and we were fed up. It really wasn’t worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you desperately need a cheap room near Pitt and don’t mind the issues. At least it was mostly quiet, and we didn’t see bugs, which was our main worry. The room reeked of smoke as soon as we walked in, which was pretty ironic given the room card envelope said “breathe easy, we are 100% smoke free.” They also told us at check-in that smoking wasn’t allowed and we’d be charged for it. We went straight back to the desk so they’d know the smell was already there and not charge us. They said there were no other rooms, which was likely BS, then came in with air freshener, sprayed a couple of times, and left. It covered things for a few hours, but when we got back it smelled even worse. Before we could pull into the lot, we had to loop through a neighborhood and approach from the other direction because you can only turn right into the place. The front desk person seemed like they hated life. I get it, given where they are, but don’t take it out on us lol.

The WiFi was reasonably good. Everything else was a letdown: it smelled of chlorine and marijuana, and the staff were unpleasant, especially in their overall manner. Breakfast ends at 10, and when I asked for a bagel at 10:12, the woman said no.

The place looks dirty when you arrive, and box vans take up most of the parking. You have to speak through bulletproof glass, which makes it hard to hear the worker. Three couples all had their reservations canceled without notice. They claim they contacted us, but none of us received anything. This place is shady. Stay away.

The room was filthy, easily the dirtiest place I’ve stayed. There was hair in the bed, stains all over the couch, wrappers on the floor, blood splattered across a wall, and wallpaper peeling off. I read reviews saying the hotel was nice, but they were very misleading. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
