I've been living here for nearly a year and have really liked it. My room has wooden floors throughout, and the soundproofing between units is so good that I almost never hear the neighbors. The building also smells fresh when you come in, with plug-in air fresheners in the shared areas. Elma in the leasing office is great to talk to, very friendly, and quick to answer questions about my lease or anything else. She made renting here much smoother, and the community feels welcoming. There is a train track near Hot Metal Bridge, and sometimes you can hear trains passing. If you're a light sleeper, I'd ask for a unit on the other side of the building. If I move back to Pittsburgh, I'd 100% live here again. Highly recommend Hot Metal Flats if you're looking for a place in the southside area!

The maintenance team is quick, friendly and professional, and responds efficiently when residents need something. Management has also been wonderful. Elma is especially kind and welcoming, works hard, and gets back to us promptly. She made our move-in smooth and stress-free by going above and beyond to accommodate us. Her little event nights also help everyone feel more connected. I highly recommend Hot Metal Flats. It really feels like home.

Everyday life here has been hassle-free thanks to the steady, efficient maintenance team. The building is well cared for, and the amenities are managed thoughtfully. They also put effort into bringing residents together with fun, well-planned events. The leasing office is easy to work with. Elma brings a friendly, upbeat energy while keeping things running smoothly, and it's clear there's real care for the building and the people who live here.

Elma Dunlevy is our manager, and she's quick to help with questions or requests, even when she's out of office. She also puts thought into social events like S’more’s Bonfire Night, Halloween Costume Party, and happy hours at nearby food and drink establishments. Those gatherings give people in the HMF community a chance to meet and enjoy the shared spaces. I love living in Hot Metal Flats. The apartments and amenities are beautiful, and the atmosphere and attention to detail from the management office make the experience even better. I plan to stay, in part because of the special work Elma does for all of us :)

The building is comfortable, well maintained, and has really come to feel like home. Elma, the building manager, is a big reason I've enjoyed living here. She's attentive, friendly, and quick to help with whatever comes up. Her community events bring residents together and make the place even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this building.
