We ended up taking our business elsewhere. I tried to reserve three nights at this BnB, but first had to call and wait for an employee to respond, a problem since rooms were going quickly that weekend. They called once without leaving a message, then called again to say that although the dates were available, they wouldn't let us book because they wanted someone staying longer than three days. They said they'd get back to me if they couldn't find a longer booking, whenever it suited them.

I feel for the tenants and hope things improve for them. They seemed surprised, and even relieved, when I came by and pruned some of the rose bushes. They told me the owner hires handymen and landscapers, then fires them, which may explain the ongoing maintenance and landscaping issues. After I explained that more service was needed, the owner canceled it, despite having wanted to schedule just one visit a month.
