Residence Inn Indianapolis Plainfield

I've stayed here on every trip to Indy and usually have a great time. The front desk staff have been amazing. Then I met Robin, the middle aged woman with colored red hair and sparkly black extensions. What a piece of work. Could someone explain hospitality to her? Watching her devour a bag full of burgers gave me nightmares.

We had everything we needed in the room and then some. The place was very clean, the staff were professional and helpful, and breakfast was good. The pool was clean, with a bathroom right nearby. There's a movie theater, Walmart, the mall, and lots of other places, including food spots, close by.

Theresa was the highlight of our weeklong stay at the Plainfield Residence Inn. She showed up every day with a smile and asked how she could make things better. Out of the ten people we dealt with, nine were good representatives of the hotel, but Theresa went above and beyond. She's a real asset to the Marriott brand. The location is handy for stores and restaurants, and the shared areas were very clean. Our room was mostly clean too, but the floors were so dirty we kept our shoes on. We were on the first floor and kept catching and flushing little millipede-like creatures from the bathroom and kitchen floors. I don't know if it was just our room or a design flaw. The bathroom vent didn't bring in cool air or remove steam and hot air, so it got very hot even after a warm shower or while doing my hair with the lights on. Even so, my husband travels a lot and says he'll stay there on future trips to Indianapolis.

The staff at 2 p.m. were amazing, but the 8 p.m. service was terrible. I went to the hotel store and asked the woman if I could pay half in cash and half by card. She said I could just use a card, then said she'd prefer card, while her phone call was on hold. Maybe the call distracted her, I don't know. I bought a root beer, M&Ms, and one frozen meal, but the receipt showed two frozen meals and no M&Ms, even though I saw her scan them. It looked like she was trying to change the purchase in the system and upset me. When I pointed out the extra charge, she took a $10 bill from her wallet instead of doing a card transaction, then went through the security door. I assume she wanted to get back to being on the phone. I didn't get her name, but she had black hair. There was also constant beeping downstairs.
