Alta Peruvian Lodge

The lodge has a distinctive, social feel. Its history draws interesting, open-minded people, and we really like the atmosphere. Staff throughout were friendly and welcoming. Meals are included, and the food was good for us, though we’re not picky eaters. Not having to think about where to find food was worth it. Getting on the slopes was especially convenient. You can walk to the Wildcat lift or take the reliable lodge shuttle to Albion Base and the ski school. We never waited more than 5 minutes, and the trip back from Albion took only 2-3 minutes. Our room booking included two ski storage lockers, which gave us more time skiing. The two hot tubs were actually hot, and the heated pool was popular with kids, making it a good option for families. This is a special place unlike any other.

For a ski trip with the feel of the old days, check this original, nostalgic hotel out while it’s still here. The atmosphere is great for meeting fellow skiers. I wouldn’t think twice about choosing somewhere else before this place no longer exists.

This place is so great. I hope I get more chances to photograph weddings here and take more amazing pictures.

We liked the all-inclusive meals, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner served family style so you can meet other guests. Renting ski equipment was easy, and the locker came with it. You can walk straight out toward Alta ski area, and the shuttle goes around the area without much of a wait. Our driver James was great. We’ll be back! It was our first visit to Utah, and we picked Alta Peruvian for its small, intimate feel. The European-style lodge is cute, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Our room, #76, had beautiful views, and we watched the moon rise over the mountains each night. After skiing, the relaxed bar had games and other skiers hanging out. The hot tub was busy, but we got in and met lots of people. Bring a robe, grab a cocktail, and enjoy. You can sit by the fire in the main area or head downstairs to the large TV room.
