Fairfield Inn & Suites Plainville

The hotel was clean and in a convenient spot, and everyone at the front desk was welcoming, polite, and helpful, especially Madeline! They were super accommodating to our hockey team. Had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast spread is wonderful, but the inn feels somewhat outdated. I'm concerned the new owners aren't investing in it. The HVAC for the lobby and breakfast area has been broken since July of 2025, leaving those spaces hot and humid in summer and cold in winter. Be ready to eat breakfast in your winter coat. More recently, streaming stopped working. I was told "Corporate" didn't renew the services and the equipment needs an upgrade. TV channels still work, but Netflix, Prime, YouTube, and other streaming services are unavailable.

The room was very clean and we had no issues. Madeline greeted us with a warm smile and a wonderful personality. Breakfast was delicious, and although only one person was working the line and bringing food out, she did a fantastic job keeping on top of it all.

The pizza from the on-site place was paper thin and had little dough or flavor, so I had to find food elsewhere. My first room smelled strongly of urine the moment I walked in. I didn't even put my bags down before asking to move. The next room was smaller and had no hot water. I've now waited over three hours for a warm shower. The front desk staff seemed miserable and unwilling to help, making this even more frustrating. The room also felt unclean and musty, with worn carpet and dirty-looking drapes. Even the mini-fridge runs on a timer, which seems oddly cheap for a Marriott. I'm shocked this is a Marriott property. It has the name, but the quality feels more like a budget motel. I'm extremely disappointed. This stay feels like a complete waste of money.
