Smart Choice Inn

The hot water rarely worked, but I can’t get past the thefts. We were there on a family trip and had several things stolen, including headphones, a t-shirt, medication, lotion, and other items. That’s completely unacceptable! When we called to ask about it, they said they had new people, as if that were an excuse. New people can steal and that’s okay? I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere. Go to Mitchell or keep driving.

I was grateful for such a comfortable stop on my trip east. The room had no odd smells, everything was clean and properly installed, and the amenities were good, including a larger-than-usual mini-fridge. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and the pillows were especially comfortable. No sketchy vibes or noisy neighbors during my stay. They also have a simple breakfast bar, with cheap gas and hot food nearby. I’d feel comfortable bringing a small, well-behaved family here for a night or two in a larger room. Plenty of budget hotels squeeze customers and skimp on basics, but this one doesn’t.

Disgusting! The first room had a bed bug crawling on the bed as we were getting ready to sleep. It smelled musty, the AC was awful, and the sheets were dirty. The whole place was super hot. We moved to a new room and found roaches there. The desk guy tried to say they weren’t bed bugs, even though they clearly were.

I hit a deer while driving through the state and had to stop. The room was clean and very comfortable. Since every place was closed, the staff gave me and my son something warm to eat. It’s a small-town motel, but the staff are friendly.
