Best Western Plus The Inn At Smithfield

I heard the managers criticizing one of their employees, then trying to act as if their behavior wasn’t racist. I wouldn’t recommend staying here because of what I saw. Management should review its corporate policies, treat employees with more respect, and take a look at its own prejudice.

The front desk team was helpful and friendly, and breakfast had plenty of the usual hotel options. The hotel was quiet, clean, and easy to find. I’d stay again next time we travel north.

I stay here several times through the year, but this was easily my worst visit. There weren’t any extra towels, and the room was dirty. We were told supplies were low when we asked for more room towels. Breakfast was very limited and bad. The eggs and potatoes weren’t even edible. At the pool there were no towels either, and the water was cold while the room felt chilly. Not impressed at all.

I arrived Friday, December 12th, and found the lot still unplowed from a storm on Monday. At 7:10 I went into the lobby, and by 7:19, after I’d written this review, there was still nobody at the desk. I travel as a photographer and have stayed in hundreds of hotels, but I’ve never seen a lobby with no employees for 15 minutes at 7 p.m. on a Friday. That’s what my experience here suggests you can expect. EDIT: Management replied suggesting they couldn’t find my reservation. My employer made it, but I still swiped my card for incidentals, so my name should be in the system.
