Holiday Inn Express Minneapolis West Plymouth by IHG

My mother and I first stayed here two years ago for her birthday, and now we’ve come back, which probably says enough. The room and bathroom were clean, the beds comfy, and breakfast was great with a huge seating area. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. There’s a pool too, and the water is lukewarm rather than cold. Thanks for a pleasant, enjoyable stay. This is a place I can see my family and me returning to relax. Keep up the great work!

The third floor smelled of pot smoke, and I complained four times. The manager said she’d give me points, but when I asked for a refund, it was denied. The people smoking weren’t removed until the next morning, and the smell seeped around the door into our room all night. She said I was in room 226 and the smokers were in 216, so it shouldn’t have affected us. I have a traumatic brain injury, and the awful smell kept me awake most of the night before important physician testing that day.

We’ve found the rooms nice and clean each time we’ve stayed, and the property itself is clean too. The rates are good, the location is great, and the staff are friendly. The continental breakfast is average. The heated pool is a nice feature.

We’re hockey parents who were encouraged to book here. Past Holiday Inn stays have been good, but this one was horrible. From the start, manager Tanisha was confrontational and threatening. She called the police over guests who weren’t loud, disruptive, or threatening, wasting law enforcement’s time. The officers themselves seemed to recognize it. Tanisha tried to get a group of about 60 of us removed, many with children and spouses already asleep, because a small group had drinks and snacks in the lobby well before the stated 11pm quiet hour. She also lied to guests more than once. She made one mother cry by telling her that other parents on our team didn’t want her near our rooms, which was entirely false. Another group was disruptive and got no trouble, while our respectful group kept things clean and quiet and was harassed endlessly. We’re appalled by the staff’s behavior and won’t stay here again or recommend the hotel. There were also stains on some bedsheets, and one room was full of ants.
