Ko'a Kea Resort on Po'ipu Beach

After our 7-day stay, the only complaint I have is that the mattress needs replacing. The room was lovely, with a good size, beautiful bathroom, balcony overlooking mesmerizing water, and good soundproofing. The resort's scale felt just right, with all the key amenities and friendly, professional staff, but without the institutional feel of chain resorts. We had dinner at Red Salt twice, both times excellent. Breakfast there was fine, though it felt a bit overpriced. The location is unparalleled. If we return to Kauai, we'll stay at Ko'a Kea.

Room 244 is our jam, and the resort feels like our home away from home. The staff go above and beyond to look after every guest. They made our wedding and stay amazing, and we'll be back and recommend them to everyone. Kyrsten behind the Red Salt bar, the girls behind the pool bar, the Valet, and Kele the surf instructor were all so amazing. I can't leave out Tracy, the manager, who went above and beyond!

My wife and I loved this cozy, beautiful property so much that we came back this year with friends. Everything it offers is so convenient and easy to get to, from the pool bar, pool, restaurant, and parking to the beach sports center. We love it.

We spent a lot of time on the balcony of our oceanfront room, watching surfers, seals, and whales and catching the sunsets. The resort’s smaller size and peaceful feel suited us perfectly, and it never seemed crowded. The spa was excellent, too. Breakfast had a tasty range of choices, and the staff were incredibly friendly, especially Marlina. We thought dinner at Red Salt was just okay for the price, so we mostly ate nearby in Koloa town. One thing we didn’t enjoy was getting daily mass invitations by text on the same channel as the resort updates, with no way to unsubscribe from just those messages. We had a great stay and would recommend it, especially if you’re after a quiet, intimate resort. We felt it was the best in the area.
