Motel 6 Pomona, CA - Los Angeles

I stayed one night at this Motel 6 in Pomona after booking through a third-party site. My partner and I found bed bugs shortly after entering the room, and we were both bitten while sleeping. The bathroom also looked dirty and possibly affected. The whole stay felt unsafe and completely unacceptable. I took photos as evidence. It was stressful and uncomfortable, especially since we needed somewhere to stay that night. I requested a refund for the affected night and am still waiting for a proper resolution. No guest should have to deal with this, and I hope management takes it seriously and fixes the problem for future visitors. This happened Feb 2-3.

We’d booked two nights, but arrived close to midnight on the first night after a very long drive. The room was dirty and uncomfortable, and felt very unsafe at night despite a security guard being on the property. The photos show what we saw during the routine room check right after walking in. We didn’t stay there, except perhaps for an hour. Since it was so late, I called the next day to ask for a refund. They said they’d make a one-time exception and refund me without requiring me to return to the hotel. Days later, I saw that they’d refunded only one night. I’d explained that we hadn’t stayed there, so I plan to call again after Christmas to ask for the rest. Even at a low price, this hotel isn’t worth it.

Our room was ready when we arrived, and it was nice and neat on the first day. Everything was cool apart from one thing: we stayed two days and needed more towels, but they didn’t provide any. If you want a home away from home, go to the 6. It’s always better than the Hilton.

Be careful around the cactus plants here, especially at night. The huge aloe-like plants have stiff, sharp, ice-pick-like needles on the tips of their leaves, which stick out into walking areas. They’re so rigid you can’t easily break them with your hands. It seems very possible to suffer a life-ending injury from them. These “ice picks” are everywhere.
