I’m done staying at Hilton Tucson East. I found much better hotels nearby, with nicer rooms, caring staff, free parking, a conference room, a pool, easier access, and breakfast included. At close to $187 a night plus parking, this place isn’t worth the cost. The last straw was a business stay I arranged through Hilton Honors. A manager approved my rate and took my card details before I left the airport. When I asked if my colleague arriving that evening could get the same rate, they said they’d call back. Ten minutes later, I was told the manager had refused my colleague and canceled my already approved rate too. That was unprofessional and not how Hilton Honors should treat a loyal guest. I’d put up with a lot on earlier visits because the hotel was near my work. Outlets didn’t work, the room phone was broken, the safe malfunctioned, and the bathroom faucet leaked. Maintenance couldn’t fix those problems, and employees said other rooms had similar issues, so moving might not help. This experience ended my loyalty, and I’ll stay elsewhere on future Tucson trips.

We had a really good stay, even with all the negative reviews I’ve seen. Ms Alicia greeted us warmly at the desk and helped arrange an early check-in. The room was spotless, including the towels and linens. There’s a 4-6pm Happy Hour, restaurant service in the morning and evening, and plenty of parking. It’s also well placed for getting to local activities. I recommend booking through the Hilton site, where the price is just as competitive and you can get extra perks. Happy travels!

Alicia, the front desk manager, made a strong impression with her relaxed, down-to-earth manner and professional, personable service. She and the rest of the front office team were welcoming and efficient from my arrival through checkout. I was in town for four days, June 4 - 8, 2026, for a wedding and to see old friends, so I was often coming back late or stopping in briefly between plans. Whatever the hour, the desk staff were warm and quick to help with questions or other logistics. That kind of welcome can make or break a trip, and Alicia’s team is a real asset here. I appreciated the care.

The location was a big reason we picked this place. It’s near where I used to live, with lots of restaurants and stores close by, and I liked the pool and lounging area. The halls were clean, our room was fine with no maintenance problems, and the pool area was cleaned daily. The restaurant was good, too. The staff were doing a great job, but the hotel needs to help guests communicate with housekeeping. They didn’t speak English, and it wasn’t Spanish either, so I couldn’t get our needs across. Picture boards for things like towels or coffee, with staff trained to use them, would help. I shouldn’t have to call the front desk just to communicate a basic request. The room service schedule was every other day, and nobody told us. That would’ve been okay if we’d been given enough coffee, toilet paper, and towels for two days. Guests also had to call for pool towels every single day. Breakfast was a $20 buffet, a bit pricey unless you want a big meal. At the gym, the weights jumped in five-pound steps, with nothing under 10 pounds, despite an empty space where the lighter ones belonged. Cardio options were just treadmills and bikes, plus a bench. The coffee situation got silly. The decent Rain Forrest coffee in the room and restaurant was replaced by awful stuff, so bring your own. The lobby coffee shop was supposed to be open 6:00am to noon, but was rarely open. When I checked at 9:00am, the desk would say, “well, not TODAY...” We ended up getting coffee elsewhere.

We were only there for a quick overnight, and by the time we arrived it was late, so we just wanted to sleep. The room was disappointing and not clean. There were stains on the carpet and chaise chair that made both of us avoid sitting there. The fridge didn’t work, presumably because it was covered in ice. The comforter had a duvet insert but no cover, and the bins had no liners, so I had to improvise while carrying trash. The shower never got beyond lukewarm, and the bathroom sink drained very slowly, as if clogged. If it hadn’t been so late, I would have asked to change rooms in the hope of getting a cleaner one.
