Oyo Hotel Pompano Beach

Our room wasn't clean when we checked in. The sheets and pillows were stained and had hair on them, and the bathroom was dirty and covered in bugs. The beds were uncomfortable and small, even though we had a king bedroom, and there was only one full-size pillow. That pillow was stained too. The photos are technically accurate, but give the wrong impression. This is still Haven Hotel, despite the name change to OYO, so reviews for Haven still apply. It currently has 2.9 stars. The five-star reviews seem fishy to me: almost all are from people who have only reviewed other OYO hotels, and gave those five stars too. The high rating here might not be entirely deserved. Be careful before booking. The website isn't accurate, and they don't serve breakfast, despite what other reviewers say. Two of the room's three lamps didn't work, and the door wouldn't lock. When I tried to talk to the front desk, he took my credit card information and then said he was "busy now." The bed was lumpy, like a sack of potatoes. They charge a $5 daily resort fee to park and use the pool, plus a $100.00 deposit.

The room felt like it hadn't been cleaned. I found an empty pill wrapper, which says a lot about how much cleaning was missed. The windows were broken, so the little bit of air conditioning just went outside. The bathroom didn't work properly, and the toilet looked ready to come loose from the floor. There was no hot water. I called to ask someone to check it, and nearly an hour later nobody had shown up. I politely asked the woman at the front desk for a refund or a free night for the trouble. She said no way, as if trying to make a customer happy was a huge problem. This place deserves a big zero. Don't stay here. If you're spending $85 on a room like I did, spend it somewhere else or you'll be as mad as I am.

Room 214 had bedbugs, and I was bitten pretty badly. The hotel had no answers and didn't offer compensation. Some rooms weren't fully furnished, ours missing a kitchen table and chairs. The bathroom was old but worked, and the doors had to be shut firmly to lock. The desk attendant seemed distracted. It's easy to find and there's plenty of parking. The price is probably fair for the condition.
