Americas Best Value Inn Ponca City

I woke up feeling miserable in this place after a long drive. I was too exhausted to switch hotels the night before, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again. The walkways to the rooms are in rough shape and gave the whole place a grim, neglected feel. Inside, the towels were dirty and gray, and two stained pillows stood out against the newer-looking sheets. There was no hot water, and the microwave tripped the breaker whenever it ran while the TV was on. Mold around the drain and on the tiles was another problem. The sign outside and the online listing both advertise breakfast, but it wasn't offered. If you want a stay that makes you feel down and out, this is the place.

They refused to give me a refund, even though the room was awful. It smelled terrible, with dead bugs in the fridge and hairs on pee-stained sheets. The front desk guy was barely understandable. The place felt filthy, like they'd tried to cover it up with new flooring and a fresh coat of paint.

We couldn't get a proper night's rest: the beds were horrible, and the pillows were so flat that even doubling them up didn't let us see the TV or sleep well. The sheets had pee stains and pubic hairs, and there was what looked like poop wiped on the wall behind the bathroom door. A strange man was walking around the parking lot watching people, and the smoke detector had no battery when my husband checked it. The room had a hole where the peephole should have been, and the refrigerator leaked onto the floor. There was no coffee pot, and the ice machine they directed us to was broken. We asked to rent a smoking room but were told none was available and to smoke outside. Then we found an ashtray in the room, so the clerk had lied, and we had to stand outdoors in 40-degree weather whenever we wanted a smoke. The cleaning lady also came into our room a little after 9 a.m. while we were still asleep, two hours before checkout. I highly don't recommend staying here. We'll never come back.

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice, with a microwave and refrigerator. The girl at check-in was lovely, kind, patient, and really helpful. She was caring without hovering.
