Ashley Inn Ponca City

My husband stayed here for a job in the area and checked out early when the work ended. We and booking.com were told there'd be a refund for five days, 6/23-6/27, but it still hasn't arrived. I wouldn't recommend this inn.

I stayed here back in 2022 and it was nothing like it is now. The new owners have completely renovated the motel, and the rooms have a fresh look. They did a fantastic job, and I'm glad I stayed. Definitely worth it!

The bathroom seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The tub wouldn't drain, and the shower knob was so hard to turn I wondered if it worked at all. I asked for a nonsmoking room because my two children have allergies, but the room smelled like an ashtray. The TV didn't work, and the pillows looked like they had blood spots. I did get the two-bed room I requested, eventually, but first they gave me the key to the wrong room, then I got a two-bed room without a key. I'm hoping the towels were just stained and not dirty.

I was here for two weeks because of surgery issues, and the stay was the most sleepless one I've ever had. The walls had a lot of dirt on them, and I would have cleaned them myself if the front desk woman had been more pleasant. She was rude and condescending, while the housekeeping staff seemed overworked because they were understaffed. I had to buy earplugs, and it still wasn't quiet. When I complained about the noise, she said, 'yeah, me too,' even though she was being paid and I was paying. I needed to call someone in the middle of the night after being woken by slamming, but the number I called didn't help. I was locked out of my room over 20 times, which meant taking the long way around the stairs again and again. I kept telling her it was becoming a safety issue. The only reason I stayed was that I had all my luggage and no energy to move it somewhere else. When I got locked out and told her it was a safety issue, she rolled her eyes. They don't like cash, so don't try to pay that way. She did as little as her job required. I was there so long that I tried to get a bulk rate, but she'd cancel reservations so I wouldn't qualify. She also complained about being woken up. The hotel was under construction, so I think that part is improving, but Ponca City should give jobs to people who want to work and deserve employment, maybe someone who can smile.
