We found this place while dodging tornadoes on our drive home from a funeral in Kansas. As Choice members, we looked there first, and it turned out to be a joy to stay here. Everyone on staff was helpful and seemed to care about what we needed. Debbie, the breakfast spread lady, had such nice things to say about her employer, which says a lot. Our room was tidy and clean, and we didn't have to worry about creepy-crawlers. Check-in and checkout went smoothly. I highly recommend it to weary travelers and wish more places offered the kind of customer service we got here.

The water is hot, but the shower pressure is weak. The carpet was nasty, the toilet seat badly scratched, and there was still trash in the bathroom. The AC lid was broken, breakfast was cold or burned, the apple juice had something floating in it, and the Wi-Fi was terrible. The main problem was the tub in room 221. Yvonne told me the water from my bath was flooding the first-floor bathroom. I said my floor was dry and that water should go down a pipe, so this sounded like a plumbing problem, not something I'd caused. A few hours later she said water had come down from my tub, then explained the room was built that way and another room had the same problem, with no way to fix it. She knew about it, so why put anyone in that room? I told her there should be a warning sign. When I first came in, Yvonne didn't greet or smile; after I said hello, she asked in a bothered tone whether she could help me.

I would stay here again. The rooms were spacious, well equipped, and well maintained, with a bathroom that had plenty of vanity space, a ceramic tub, and tiled shower walls. Across the street, JW Cobb serves excellent food, especially the catfish, with big portions and great prices. I forgot to mention to the staff that the Direct-TV service was poor and kept buffering.

I had a fun stay with my family. The beds were comfy and the staff was pleasant. Breakfast was free and a decent place to eat, even if the choices got repetitive.

The room price seemed fair, and the pet fee was reasonable. Just keep in mind the fees and the city's 17.58% hotel tax added nearly $40 to the final charge, almost half the room rate. We were by the parking lot door, so arrivals and departures were noticeable, but it wasn't a busy night and it was fine. Breakfast was okay.
