For the price, it wasn’t bad, and the room seemed mostly remodeled. The place is right off the highway in a safe area, check-in was easy, and the pool was clean. Breakfast had eggs, sausage, biscuits, and waffles. It’s pet-friendly, but you can smell the pets in the room. I don’t get why they put carpet in there. There’s no coffee maker in the room, though coffee is available downstairs around the clock, which is a good idea.

We picked Pooler for our family’s first visit to Savannah because we wanted an indoor pool, and we really enjoyed the stay. The manager helped warm up the pool for evening swims, and breakfast was delicious. Get there early if you want to be sure there’s still food. Everyone was exceptionally kind, especially the overnight front desk woman. She was patient with my two little ones, helped with everything we asked for, and kept smiling. We’re grateful to the Baymont staff!

After a 12-hour drive, we got to the room at 11 p.m. through an Expedia booking and just wanted to sleep. The room, like the rest of the hotel, was nasty, and the smoke alarm kept beeping. The front desk “fixed” it by taking out the battery. At 4 a.m., another alarm nearby started beeping and woke us up. I mentioned it at checkout, but they didn’t care. Expedia later offered a 50% refund on the condition that I remove my negative review. I wanted a full refund at least, so here’s another review to get the other 50%, since apparently that’s the game now.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the shower hot, and the AC worked well. It was a reasonably priced stop on a busy travel weekend, conveniently right off I-95, and it did the job for a night of sleep on my road trip. The room was spacious, too. The front desk woman was extremely nice. The lobby looks outdated, and parts of the room need updating, including a stained window shade and peeling walls. The blinds let bright streetlights in around the sides and bottom. Not a bad stay for what I needed.
